Lists & Contacts is the foundation of Mumara Campaigns — before you can send any campaign, you need contacts organized into lists. The module, found under the Lists and Contacts menus, has five building blocks:
Contact Lists — containers that store subscribers, each with its own sender name/email, bounce handling, and assigned profile fields. Lists can be organized into groups.
Contacts — individual subscribers with an email address, custom field values, status flags, and engagement data.
Custom Fields — extra data fields (name, company, country, birth date, or your own) used for personalization and filtering.
Segments — dynamic, virtual lists built from filters (status, field values, opens/clicks, geography, device) that update automatically as contacts match or unmatch the criteria.
Suppression Lists — block lists by email address, domain, or IP, applied globally or to specific lists.
Contact statuses control who actually receives mail: Active/Inactive, Confirmed/Unconfirmed, Subscribed/Unsubscribed, Soft/Hard Bounced, Suppressed, and Spammed. Hard-bounced, unsubscribed, and suppressed contacts are excluded from sends.
To get started: create a list under Lists → Contact Lists → Add Contact List, then add contacts manually, by CSV import, through web forms, or via the API. Keep lists healthy by using descriptive names and groups, validating emails on import, using double opt-in, never re-adding unsubscribed contacts, and regularly cleaning bounces and running deduplication.
